With 28 Years Later fast approaching, one topic of debate has been if the Rage infection makes people zombies. Often people refer to 28 Days Later as the “movie with fast zombies”, but are they zombies? The quick answer, not in the traditional sense.

Both have the singular objective to attack and bite people. Zombies are rotten bags of flesh so they shamble towards their lunch. The infected of the 28 * Later series have rage pumping through their very much alive bodies. So why are they called “Fast Zombies”?

The term “zombie” has become more than just undead flesh eaters. It can be minimal thought process with a singular objective. The infected with Rage only want to attack and kill. They can’t be tamed or reasoned with.
